Is studying for exams allowed during aitikaaf? - اعتکاف

Assalamo Alaikum I am a student of CA Final. My exams will be held in December. I want to observe aitikaaf in the month of Ramadan. However leaving studies for ten days will hamper my preparation. Is studying for exams allowed during aitikaaf?

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

Yes! Although there is no harm in continuing studies while remaining in I’thikaf alongwith taking care of other good A’mal e Saliha, it is necessary to avoid doing so in a situation where there is fear of disrespect to the Masjid such as having animated objects in the connected studying material.
