Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh! What do the respected Muftis say regarding the following matter: A woman went for Hajj, but during the days of Hajj, her menstrual cycle began. She was able to complete all the remaining rituals of Hajj except for Tawaf al-Ziyarah, which she could not perform due to her menstruation. Her return flight is on the 15th of Dhul-Hijjah, while her menstruation is expected to end on the 18th of Dhul-Hijjah. Due to the absence of a mahram or other unavoidable circumstances, she is unable to stay back. In this situation, what is the Shari'ah ruling for her? Kindly explain this matter clearly and provide a satisfying answer. Jazakum Allahu Khayran! (May Allah reward you with goodness).
In a case of genuine necessity, where a woman is absolutely unable to stay any longer (due to lack of a mahram or other unavoidable reasons), she may perform Tawaf al-Ziyarah even while in the state of menstruation. However, she must offer a sacrifice (badanah) — that is, a cow or a camel — within the boundaries of the Haram, and also repent and seek forgiveness from Allah for performing the tawaf in the state of menstruation.
