Can I have a male baby through gender selection via test tube?

Can I have a male baby through gender selection via test tube? I already have two daughters who was born through C-section. Now I was to have a male child via test tube.

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

Out of all the common procedures of attaining children via test tube, only one is allowed providing there is a compelling need for it. And that is if the semen of the husband (who is alive) is mixed with the eggs of his wife and placed in the tube where the fertilizing process will occur. This can only be done by a husband and wife with the assistance of a proficient doctor. It must also be noted that the laws of Hijab must be fully observed and she must not reveal herself except for what is necessary. If the questioner wants to have male children via this procedure, then it is allowed. If there is any other procedure, then it can be written about in detail and resent via email and Insha Allah, its ruling as per Shari’ah will be provided.

فی الفقہ الإسلامی : التلقيح الصناعي : هو استدخال المني لرحم المرأة بدون جماع . فإن كان بماء الرجل لزوجته ، جاز شرعاً ، إذ لا محذور فيه ، بل قد يندب إذا كان هناك ما نع شرعي من الاتصال الجنسي . و أما إن كان بماء رجل أجنبي عن المرأة ، لا زواج بينهما ، فهو حرام الخ (۳/ ۵۵۹)-
