Ruling on Eating Meat in Saudi Arabia

I am going for Umrah. I need your opinion: What is the ruling on eating meat in Saudi Arabia and on Saudi Airlines? May Allah reward you.

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

It should be clear that in the hotels of Muslim countries, the dominant assumption is that they do not use anything unlawful in food. Therefore, if the meat served in Saudi Arabia or on Saudi Airlines is imported from Muslim countries or provided by Saudi Arabia itself, then there is no problem in eating it. However, if that meat is imported from non-Muslim countries, then in such a case, unless there is certainty or a strong presumption—through a reliable institution or organization—that it is halal and slaughtered according to the Shariʿah, it will not be permissible to consume such meat.

مأخَذُ الفَتوی

کما فی الدر المختار:قلت: وقد وقع في عصرنا حادثة الفتوى، وهي أن رجلا وجد شاته مذبوحة ببستانه هل يحل له أكلها أم لا؟ ومقتضى ما ذكرناه أنه لا يحل لوقوع الشك في أن الذابح ممن تحل ذكاته أم لا، وهل سمى الله تعالى عليها أم لا الخ
وفی الشامیۃ تحت: (قوله لوقوع الشك إلخ) فيه أن الظاهر من حال البازي الذي طبعه الاصطياد أنه غير مرسل وغير مملوك لأحد، بخلاف الذابح في بلاد الإسلام فإن الظاهر أنه تحل ذبيحته وأنه سمى، واحتمال عدم ذلك موجود في اللحم الذي يباع في السوق، وهو احتمال غير معتبر في التحريم قطعا الخ (کتاب الصید،ج 6،ص 676،ط:سعید)۔
