Ruling on Qasr Salah while working on board a ship

I am a seaman. My home is currently in Karachi. I am serving on board a ship at Muscat that is anchored near the coast. The ship has been anchored in the same place for the past eight months. Please inform me as to whether I must offer Qasr (shortened) or full Salah during my service away from home.

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

If the questioner had initially intended to remain in that place for 15 days or more, then while he is there he must offer his Salah fully.

ففی الفتاوى الهندية: ولا يزال على حكم السفر حتى ينوي الإقامة في بلدة أو قرية خمسة عشر يوما أو أكثر، كذا في الهداية اھ (1/ 139)
