Which of the deceased has the status of a martyr?

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

A true martyr (i.e. one upon whom the rulings of martyrdom will be implemented) is one who has died fighting in the path of Allah, or was killed oppressively by the hands of another muslim. Other than them, one who dies in a plague, drowns, is burnt to death or crushed are also considered as martyrs. However, if the questions wants to know the ruling about martyrdom regarding a specific type of death, then he can rewrite his question in detail and Insha Allah, an answer will be provided.

مأخَذُ الفَتوی

ففی موطأ مالك رواية محمد بن الحسن الشيباني: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " الشهادة سبع سوى القتل في سبيل الله: المطعون شهيد، والغريق شهيد، وصاحب ذات الجنب شهيد، وصاحب الحريق شهيد، والذي يموت تحت الهدم شهيد، والمرأة تموت بجمع شهيد، والمبطون شهيد " (ص: 108)
وفي الهداية: " الشهيد من قتله المشركون أو وجد في المعركة وبه أثر أو قتله المسلمون ظلما (إلی قوله) ومن قتله أهل الحرب أو أهل البغي أو قطاع الطريق فبأي شيء قتلوه لم يغسل اھ (1/ 92)
