In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful!
Respected honorable Muftis of Jamia Binoria Aalamia, adjacent to SITE Karachi, Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh! To Darul Ifta of Jamia Binoria Aalamia,
After greetings! What do the esteemed Muftis say regarding the following matter: A person, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, contributes a share of sacrifice for his father from his own money (he performs the sacrifice for his father from his own funds). However, the money of this person is earned through downloading songs, movies, and other immoral activities. In this case, is the sacrifice on behalf of his father valid or not? Will the obligation of sacrifice be fulfilled or not? We request the honorable Muftis to kindly clarify the ruling on this matter. JazakAllahu khayran fid-darayn.
If the mentioned person’s predominant income is not from unlawful sources, or if he takes a loan to perform the sacrifice on his own behalf or on behalf of his father, then the sacrifice will be considered valid according to Shariah.
