I ate from a restaurant owned by a non-Muslim. The cook at that restaurant is a Hindu. I only became aware of this after eating. What ruling will apply to me in this scenario?
If the questioner had eaten anything else other than meat, then it was permissible for him, regardless of whether the cook was a Hindu or anyone else. However, if he questioner had eaten meat slaughtered by the hands of the Hindu, then even though it was not permissible for him, it is hopeful that Allah will forgive him since he was unaware of this matter. However, he may be sinful for not being cautious, and must repent and beg for Allah’s forgiveness, and be more precautious about this matter in future.
