Accepting food from Christians on the day of Easter

If a Christian gives you something to eat on the occasion of Easter, is it permissible to accept it? What is the ruling regarding this?

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

It is not permissible to accept anything to eat given by Christians for their occasion of Easter. This must be avoided. But, if on other than such occasions, a Christian gives a gift or anything to eat, then there is no problem in accepting it if it is Halal and pure, however, abstaining from accepting it is still preferred.

مأخَذُ الفَتوی

فی الہندیۃ: ولا بأس بالذہاب الی ضیافۃ اهل الذمۃ (۵/ ۳۷۴)
وفی فتاوی تاتارخانیۃ: وما یأتی بہ المجوس فی نیزوزهم من الاطعمۃ الی الاکابر والسادات من کانت بینہم وبینہم معرفۃ ذهاب ومجیئ فقد قیل: ان من اخذ ذالک علی وجہ الموافقۃ لفرحہم یضر ذالک بدینہ وان اخذہ لا علی ذالک الوجہ لا بأس بہ والاحتراز عنہ اولی (۵/ ۵۲۳)
وفی خلاصۃ الفتاویٰ: لا بأس بطعام المجوس الا ذبیحتھم وفی الاکل معہم (۴/ ۳۴۷) واللہ اعلم
