Assalamu Alaikum! When a person goes to the toilet and if Manzil, Qur'an or a small religious book or some wordings of Qur'an and Hadees is with him in his front pocket, then what is the ruling on it? Though there is a little knowledge about the prohibition of it but one becomes compelled in many places where it is not possible to keep them out due to the possibility of getting it lost or stolen. Could you please guide us?

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

Yes! it is also allowed to hide such sacred writings or literature inside the pocket and go to the toilet for the apparent fear of getting lost or stolen, if kept outside.

مأخَذُ الفَتوی

کما في الدر المختار: رقية في غلاف متجاف لم يكره دخول الخلاء به، والاحتراز أفضل اھ (1/ 178)
و في حاشية ابن عابدين (رد المحتار): (قوله: رقية إلخ) الظاهر أن المراد بها ما يسمونه الآن بالهيكل والحمائلي المشتمل على الآيات القرآنية، فإذا كان غلافه منفصلا عنه كالمشمع ونحوه جاز دخول الخلاء به ومسه وحمله للجنب اھ (1/ 178)
و في حاشية بہشتی زیور ( الحوالة غنية ) ويكره دخول المخرج و في اصبعه خاتم فيه بشيئ من القرآن أو من أسمائه تعالیٰ لما فیه ترك التعظیم وقیل لا یکره ان فضه إلی الباطن الکف ولو کان شئی من القرآن أو من أسمائه تعالیٰ في جیبه لا بأس به وکذا لو کان ملفوفا في شئی والتحرز اولیٰ اھ (ص: ۸۶۱) واللہ اعلم بالصواب
