While slaughtering a goat, cutting of how many veins is praiseworthy

Assalamu Alaikum Mufthi Sahib, While slaughtering a goat, cutting of how many veins is praiseworthy and how many veins should be cut necessarily?

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

While slaughtering the animal whether it is a goat or cow/buffalo etc., 4 veins of the neck or at least 3 should be cut necessarily. By doing so the slaughtering too would become correct as per the Shari'a and consuming same too would become Halal and, not otherwise.

مأخَذُ الفَتوی

کمافی الفتاوی الھندیة والعروق التي تقطع في الذكاة أربعة: الحلقوم وهو مجرى النفس، والمريء وهو مجرى الطعام، والودجان وهما عرقان في جانبي الرقبة يجري فيها الدم، فإن قطع كل الأربعة حلت الذبيحة، وإن قطع أكثرها فكذلك عند أبي حنيفة - رحمه الله تعالى -وقالا: لا بد من قطع الحلقوم والمريء وأحد الودجين، والصحيح قول أبي حنيفة - رحمه الله تعالى - لما أن للأكثر حكم الكل، كذا في المضمرات اھ(5/287)۔
