Assalamu Alaikum Mufthi Sahib, Most of our respected Ulemas declare the slaughtering of Rafizi (Shi'a) as Haram whereas Hazrath Moulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi Sahib (Rah) in his Imadaadul Fataawa (4/608) has said that the correct and the upheld veiw is that it is permissible. So should we take the view of the majority of the Ulamas or of Moulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi Sahib's (Rahmathullahi alaihi)?
Let it be known that there are two Sects among the Shias. 1. Shia Thafdheeliya and 2. Shia Isna Ashriyya. The ruling which appears in Imdadul Fatawa (Vol 3. Page 208) is in connection with those Shias who are not Kafirs or opinions differ with regard to their Kufr. Whereas those Shias of whom the Kufr is agreed upon, such as Shia Isna Ashriyya, their ruling is mentioned with complete details in Imdadul Fatawa (Vol 4. Page 856-7) that the animal slaughtered by them is Haram and it is not permissible to enter into matrimonial contracts with them. Therefore should refrain from having unnecessary worries or developing misunderstandings about pious elders.
