Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh!
What do the esteemed scholars and respected Muftis of Shariah say regarding the following issues:
1. A person has a cow that has completed two full years, but the sign of teeth has not yet appeared. Will the sacrifice of this animal be valid or not? Is the completion of two years sufficient, or is the appearance of teeth necessary?
2. Another case: A person has a goat that is one year old, but in appearance it seems to be less than a year. Is the sacrifice of such a goat permissible, considering that the person claims that the goat is indeed one year old?
3. In a household with many members including father, mother, son, sister, and brother living together, and the household expenses are managed by the father and son, when performing the sacrifice, can it be offered on behalf of the mother or other adult members of the household besides the father? Or must it first and necessarily be done on behalf of the father?
1. If the mentioned cow has in fact completed two years of age, then its sacrifice is undoubtedly valid and permissible.
2. If the goat has indeed completed one year of age, as confirmed by the owner, then sacrificing such a goat is also permissible.
3. In a joint family system, apart from the father and guardian, every individual who possesses nisab (the value of 52.5 tolas of silver or its equivalent) is independently obligated to perform the sacrifice; otherwise, it is not obligatory upon them.
