Assalamu Alaikum!
My question is about the name of the child. I have named my son "Urzam". I need a fatwa on the real meaning of this name and its permissibility. Can I name him? And if not, please suggest a name with U. Jazak Allah khaira
Let it be known that despite searching in Arabic dictionaries "URZAM" with sound “U” of the letter "Alif", this word was not found. However, "URZAM" is present with the sound of “A” of the letter "Alif", which means "to make a sound". Therefore, the questioner should choose a name for his son from the names of the Companions Radhiyallahu Anhum (may Allah be pleased with them all), such as "Umar, Uthman, Ubadah", etc., instead of the aforementioned name.
