Can the one who trims his beard lead the prayer?

_Hafiz Arsalan, a nephew of president of masjid cmmittee on his order, led maghrib prayer who cuts short his beared than allowed in Fiqah. Complain arose from those who knew the sharia law and repeated their prayer and also reminded others to repeat their maghrib prayer. For the sake of Almighty Allah, kindly guide us, weather should every one performed his maghrib prayer on that evening, repeat his maghrib prayer or to keep faith of no such doubt be casted since their maghrib prayer been accepted by Almighty Allah. Further please suggest for future for president masjid committee on his this act if nullified by this good office, as false

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

The one who trims his beard more than the limit set by the Shari’ah is a Faasiq (one who openly transgresses and violates the laws of Allah). It is Makrooh Tahrimi to pray behind such a person. However, in the mentioned situation, even though the prayer of the people of the Jama’at was offered in a disliked manner, there is no need to repeat it. Nonetheless, it is not proper to let someone who trims his beard lead the prayer. This must be avoided.

وفی القدوری: یکرہ تقدیم العبد والاعرابی والفاسق والاعمی وولد الزنا فان تقدموا جاز اھ (۱/۲۲)۔
