I want to ask whether a husband, with his wife's permission, may use sex toys (such as vibrators) during marital relations while he himself is also participating in the act — meaning he only wants to add something extra to enhance intimacy. Is this permissible? If the husband’s intention is merely to make the relationship more pleasant or to please his wife, can he occasionally use these toys? Is there any explicit prohibition regarding this?
If sex toys are used during intercourse by the husband to arouse the wife for intercourse, or by the wife to arouse the husband for intercourse, then there is Shariah allowance for this. However, for self-pleasure — such as the husband using sex toys on himself, or the wife using them on herself to stimulate herself — this is not permissible in Shariah, and one must avoid it.
