Ruling on For-ex trading.

Is For-ex trading permissible?

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

It should be known that in the prevalent form of forex trading, the usual objective is not genuine buying and selling; rather, the aim is generally to earn profit by settling the difference. Consequently, in this business, an asset is sold onward without taking possession of it, which is not permissible according to Shariah. Therefore, under normal circumstances, this form of business is categorically impermissible, and it is necessary to refrain from engaging in it.
