I know someone who is of the linage of the Holy Prophet Muhammadﷺ. Two of the valves in his heart are blocked. Doctors have suggested he undertake an operation but his financial status is not good. Can he get his treatment paid for from Baitul Maal fund or it isn’t permissible for him?
If this fund consists of only money from Zakat or other obligatory forms of charity, then in this case, it is not permissible for someone of the linage of the Holy Prophet to get his treatment paid for from this fund. However, if this find consists of money other than money from Zakat or other forms of obligatory charity, or someone deserving of Zakat receives money from this fund and willfully gives it to that person of the Holy Prophet’s linage, then as per Shari’ah, doing such is permissible.
