I have opened a saving account in the Islamic branch of Bank of Khyber. I also consulted two Muftis who serve on the bank’s Board of Governors. They stated that our branch operates entirely in accordance with Islamic principles and that opening a saving account here is permissible. So, is it correct to open a saving account in Bank of Khyber Peshawar? Or, please mention other Islamic banks where a saving account may be opened.
If the matters of the Islamic branch of Bank of Khyber are conducted according to Shariah principles under the supervision of reliable and qualified Muftis, and the questioner trusts the opinion of the Shariah Supervisory Muftis overseeing the Islamic branch of Bank of Khyber, then according to Shariah, it is permissible for the questioner to open a savings account in the Islamic branch of Bank of Khyber.
